About the role:
We are looking for a Manufacturing Planner to work as a Manufacturing Representative within the Engineering Function in Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) to support new business development as well as existing programs. The Manufacturing Representative (MR) is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of manufacturing processes by adhering to standard work procedures, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The MR acts as a key liaison between production teams, support functions and management to uphold safety, quality, and productivity goals. This role is to support BDUK's delivery of Maintenance and Modification support of the USAF E-7A Aircraft during its initial production phase in Birmingham.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Answer SATs and direct them to the correct function for resolution.
- Lead and participate in Rapid Systematic Problem Solving.
- Report out on critical SATs and SAT status during the daily Tier meetings.
- Follow and execute daily standard work procedures as outlined in the LSCC MR Standard Work document.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established quality and safety standards.
- Complete daily checklists and documentation accurately to track production activities and issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to resolve production challenges.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
- Report any deviations, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Support training and onboarding of new manufacturing staff as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Experienced in scheduled maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft/components.
- Proven working knowledge of Engineering Resource Planning tools such as GoldESP IG1 or MESci.
- Experience use of the SAT system.
- An excellent communicator, with a demonstrable ability to communicate and understand the technical work requirements of the team in order that key business targets are met.
- Working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) processes, and the application of these requirements within their area of accountability, responsibility and authority.
- Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical Documents, Technical Drawings and/or associated Authorised Technical Publications (ATP's), to provide guidance and support to the teams working on the aircraft or in the production of Work orders.
- Capable of working and communicating within management levels, cross functional areas and the customer effectively.
- Capable and experienced in sequencing and controlling demanding workloads, on time, to budget and to the required standard.
