Role Overview

BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1800 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK Defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISTAR Services, Through Life Support for the Chinook and Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.

This Avionic Technician role is designed to provide direct touch\' labour under supervision, to carry out Scheduled and Un-scheduled Maintenance, Repairs and Modification work to aircraft/components. It is a full-time onsite role providing on-aircraft maintenance support to the UK Apache High Readiness Pool (HRP), located at the Main Operating Base (MOB) in Wattisham, Suffolk, typically reporting to Operations Supervisors and accountable to the Operations Manager as their line manager.

Responsibilities

  • Suitably trade trained and experienced in scheduled maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft/component and qualified on the aircraft type, component type or work type being undertaken
  • Hold 1st Signature authorisation on the aircraft type being worked on or have the ability to gain the required experience/competencies to gain 1st signature authority.
  • The ability to apply both their technical knowledge and human factors (HF) knowledge, with regard to all aspects of the work they undertake.
  • A good communicator, capable of understanding and sharing the technical work requirements they have been tasked with other members of the team
  • Possess and demonstrates acceptable knowledge of the Regulatory requirements and organisational Policies and Procedures, to perform their role to the required standards and adapt at finding polices and procedures on the BDUK systems.
  • Capable and experienced in controlling demanding technical workloads, to complete on time, to the required standards
  • Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical Documents, Technical Drawings and/or associated Authorised Technical Publications (ATP\'s).

Preferred Experience:

  • Recognised relevant trade apprenticeship or trade experience equivalent.
  • Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and processes applicable to the aviation environment (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH).
  • Proficient computer skills, use of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Previous experience in Rotor Craft Maintenance.
