Boeing Defence UK Data Analytics team is seeking a highly motivated intern for a period of 6-8 weeks over the summer months to work in their Bristol office. The Data Analytics team provides analytics capability to BDUK programmes including the P8, E7, Apache and Chinook platforms. The team comprises two sub-teams: Data Engineering and Business Intelligence and Analysis.
The intern will be involved in the end‑to‑end lifecycle of data: collection, transformation, modelling, analysis, and visualization, and will support the team on practical tasks that contribute to production or near‑production pipelines and deliver a small, documented project that demonstrates their learning.
Responsibilities- Learn the team's data environment, pipelines, tooling, and documentation standards.
- Assist in extracting, cleaning, and validating datasets from internal sources and APIs.
- Implement or enhance ETL/ELT logic under guidance, using the team's chosen tools and workflows.
- Help build or refine data models and metadata to support analytics and reporting.
- Develop dashboards or reports to answer specific business questions or measure KPIs.
- Troubleshoot data issues and investigate anomalies.
- Present a final demo/walkthrough of the assigned project and provide a short written handoff for future maintenance.
The position is full time in the Bristol office. The selected intern may be required to visit alternative Boeing or customer sites in the UK, including overnight stays.
Qualifications- In the first or second year of an engineering or mathematics degree.
- A strong academic record at GCSE and A level/IB.
- Strong communication skills.
- Evidence of successful teamwork.
