We are looking for a Media Technician to support production activities within our Pirbright manufacturing facility. This role plays a vital part in the upstream production of FMD and BTV antigens, helping ensure timely, compliant and high quality manufacturing processes. This position is offered as a fixed term contract until 31st December 2027. The role is onsite five days per week, with the potential for occasional weekend work depending on operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Production Operations
    • Carry out media and antigen production activities following defined procedures to maintain product integrity and quality.
    • Complete cleaning and sterilisation of vessels and process lines.
    • Participate in gowning qualifications and aseptic process simulations when required.
    • Print and verify product/LIMS labels in line with procedures.
    • Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring data integrity and correct material consumption.
  • Area Management
    • Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing updates to production methods or equipment through the Change Control process.
    • Maintain stock accuracy, ensuring materials meet expiry and storage requirements.
    • Keep SOPs current and aligned with operational practices.
  • GMP & Compliance
    • Support internal and external audits.
    • Raise, manage and complete deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
    • Complete all documentation accurately and contemporaneously.
    • Ensure compliance with GMP, Biosafety and HSE requirements.

Requirements

  • Essential:
    • Ability to work carefully, methodically and with minimal supervision.
    • Strong IT skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in a pharmaceutical or industrial-scale manufacturing environment under a quality system.
