Position Overview

We are looking for a QC Technician to join our Quality Control Microbiology team at our Pirbright site.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in microbiology, gained either through education or professional experience, to develop their skills within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of in-process testing where results are used to support release of batches to required specifications, including receipt of test samples.
  • Test in support of site utilities and environmental monitoring testing programs, such as microbial count, endotoxin, conductivity and TOC.
  • Complete laboratory documentation and data entry accurately.
  • Support quality processes including deviations, CAPA, OOS investigations and change controls.
  • Maintain SOPs, laboratory equipment, reagents and consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, biosafety and HSE standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QC function.
  • Sterilisation of equipment and waste removal from the restricted area.

Qualifications

  • A background in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline, gained through education, university studies or practical laboratory experience.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally within microbiology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or another regulated setting.
  • An understanding of GMP, Gx P or quality-controlled environments, or a willingness to learn and develop in this area.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality documentation.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems.
