As the Local Security Manager for the UK and Ireland, you will support the day-to-day delivery of security activities across our four sites (London, Dublin, Winnersh, Pirbright).
Working under the direction of the Head of Security & Crisis Management, you will help ensure that security procedures, site controls, checks, training activities and supplier actions are implemented effectively and followed through.
This is a practical, operational role focused on coordinating activities, maintaining security standards and supporting local teams.
The position does not hold final strategic accountability for the UK and Ireland security programme.
Note: This position is offered on a two-year fixed-term contract.,
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of site security procedures, standards and controls across UK and Ireland locations.
- Assist with physical security arrangements, including access control, CCTV, visitor management, incident reporting and local site checks.
- Support security risk assessments, audits, compliance reviews and corrective-action tracking.
- Maintain accurate security records, action trackers and supporting compliance evidence.
- Coordinate security awareness activities, including employee inductions, briefings, communications and local campaigns.
- Work with guarding suppliers, contractors and site teams to maintain agreed security service levels.
- Monitor security-related actions and follow up to ensure they are completed appropriately and on time.
- Identify and escalat security concerns, incidents, overdue actions and service issues.
- Support investigations, incident response activities and local security improvements.
- Contribute to emergency response, crisis management, business continuity and operational resilience activities.
Qualifications
- Experience in corporate or operational security, including physical security, investigations, risk management, or site security operations.
- Working knowledge of access control, CCTV, guarding services, visitor management, incident reporting, and security procedures.
- Experience supporting security audits, compliance activities, risk assessments, and corrective action tracking.
- Experience managing or coordinating third-party security providers, contractors, or guarding teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive actions through to completion.
- Sound judgement, reliability, and the ability to respond effectively to incidents and changing priorities.
- Understanding of emergency response, business continuity, crisis management, and protective security principles.
- Experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, regulated, or multi-site environment.
- Relevant security qualification preferred but not essential.
