We have an exciting contract opportunity for an External Research & Named Patient Co-ordinator to support the oversight and operational delivery of External Research activities (Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) and External Collaborative Research (ECR)) alongside the coordination of the supply of Boehringer products for patients with exceptional clinical need. Reporting to the External Research & Named Patient Lead, this role will work closely with one other Co-ordinator and collaborate across multiple internal and external stakeholders. The position plays a key role in ensuring efficient processes, high-quality documentation, and timely communication across a broad portfolio of studies and individual patient requests.
This role is offered on a 12‑month rolling contract.
- Act as a key point of contact for Medical colleagues across therapy areas, including arranging meetings, supporting process steps and following up on actions.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams such as Customer Services, Legal, Pharmacovigilance and Global therapy area colleagues.
- Track and maintain oversight activities using Excel, SharePoint and bespoke platforms.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals and their teams via email and phone.
- Ensure accurate electronic archiving of documentation in designated systems.
- Support the timely reporting of spontaneous adverse events in line with regulatory requirements.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors or unusual data. Competent user of MS Excel, Word, SharePoint and MS Teams. This role is integral to the smooth and compliant delivery of External Research activities and Named Patient supply. The Co-ordinator directly supports healthcare professionals and patients by enabling access to Boehringer products where no alternatives exist, while also ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance and positive cross-functional collaboration. The position contributes meaningfully to patient care, medical research and the company’s reputation within the external research community.
