We are seeking an experienced External Reporting Accountant to join the FACT team. This role is responsible for external reporting activities, transfer pricing, and supporting Voluntary Scheme reporting. The position acts as a key Financial Business Partner to designated business functions and serves as Deputy to the External Reporting Manager, supporting both statutory and corporate financial requirements.
Responsibilities
- Identify financial issues and trends on an ongoing basis that may impact the achievement of business and financial targets; provide insight, analysis, and solutions to Finance and Business Management.
- Drive the preparation of UK and Ireland statutory accounts and German GAAP accounts, including GAAP adjustments, ensuring compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.
- Manage and coordinate the external audit process, acting as the primary liaison with Group Auditors.
- Support Voluntary Scheme reporting, including monitoring, compiling scheme returns, and supporting related audits.
- Support reporting to Sub Pricing and Pricing Committees; liaise with Human Pharma colleagues on pricing topics and with the Department of Health and Social Care as required.
- Review, maintain, and update Transfer Pricing policies and documentation to ensure compliance with local and corporate requirements, working closely with the Tax Manager.
- Calculate transfer pricing adjustments and perform detailed analysis of income statements by segment, interpreting results for actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Perform monthly and quarterly reviews of financial statements, ensuring business commentary aligns with reporting standards and requirements.
- Advise financial and functional management on the financial implications of projects, including commercial considerations, accounting standards impacts, fiscal and legal implications, and ad hoc reporting needs.
- Actively contribute as a member of the Finance team, sharing knowledge and best practice to ensure adequate cover and continuous capability development.
- Act as Deputy for the External Reporting Manager as required.
Education & Qualifications
- Degree‑level education or equivalent.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / CA / ACCA) with relevant post‑qualification experience.
- Ability to demonstrate strong application of accounting standards, tax knowledge, and Voluntary Scheme regulations.
Experience & Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in statutory accounts preparation and audit.
- Strong knowledge of UK and German GAAP.
- Experience with Voluntary Scheme reporting.
- Experience in transfer pricing, including policy documentation and adjustments.
- Strong systems experience, including SAP ERP, and intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
