The Business Insights Partner leverages advanced analytics methodologies, tools, and techniques to generate actionable insights that support data‑driven decision‑making. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams and communicating complex data findings to stakeholders, fostering a culture of data‑driven decision‑making and supporting innovation in analytics and business intelligence within the organisation.
For this role, we are looking for motivated individuals who will be key members of Boehringer Ingelheim UK and Ireland’s Data Science and Insights team and will support business strategy for our Oncology product portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define key business questions and analytical approaches, translating broad business needs into precise, actionable data questions for technical teams.
- Leverage AI and advanced analytics by working with data scientists to generate actionable insights and drive data‑driven decision making.
- Act as a product owner in shaping data models, dashboards, and visualisations to meet business needs and communicate insights across the organisation.
- Promote a culture of data‑driven decision‑making to inform strategic planning and operational execution.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including technology vendors and data providers, to continuously improve analytics processes and tools.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.
- Ensure all team activities comply with relevant legal requirements, ethical standards, ABPI (PMPCA) and IPHA regulations and BI and Alliance Company policies.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and product lifecycles. Experience in the Oncology therapeutic area is essential.
- A/BSc in a quantitative field (science, mathematics, computer science, engineering, medicine or similar).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive data‑driven decision making and challenge business assumptions.
- Expertise in market and competitor analysis and forecasting with attention to detail and quality.
- Working knowledge of advanced data analytics terminology (e.g., AI predictive modelling) for effective collaboration with data scientists.
- Good working knowledge of industry bodies (ABPI, BHBIA) and their impact on business practice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment; take ownership and lead cross‑functional projects.
- Up‑to‑date NHS knowledge including customer perspectives on insight generation.
- Relevant SAM Competencies (Business Strategist, Value Co‑Creator, Influencer, Project Manager, Trusted Partner, Ecosystem Shaper, Adaptive Leader, Technologist).
