The Business Insights Partner leverages advanced analytics methodologies, tools, and techniques to generate actionable insights that support data‑driven decision‑making. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams and effectively communicating complex data findings to stakeholders. It also plays a crucial part in fostering a culture of data‑driven decision‑making across the organisation and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation in analytics and business intelligence. For this role, we are looking for motivated individuals who will be key members of Boehringer Ingelheim UK and Ireland’s Data Science and Insights team, and play a central role in supporting business strategy for our upcoming Oncology product portfolio.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key business questions and the analytical approaches needed, acting as a translator to convert broad business needs into precise, actionable data questions for technical teams.
- Leverage AI and advanced analytical methodologies by working closely with data scientists to generate actionable business insights and drive data‑driven decision‑making.
- Act as a product owner in shaping data models, dashboards, and visualisations to ensure they meet business needs and effectively communicate insights across the organisation.
- Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organisation, promoting the use of analytics and insights to inform strategic planning and operational execution.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including technology vendors and data providers, to continuously improve analytics processes and tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the overall impact of business insights.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence, ensuring BI remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Ensure that all team activities comply with relevant legal requirements, ethical standards, ABPI (PMPCA) and IPHA regulations and BI and Alliance Company policies.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and product lifecycles.
- Experience working in the Oncology therapeutic area will be an essential requirement.
- A/BSc in a quantitative subject (science, mathematics, computer science, engineering, medicine or similar).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proven communication skills and confidence to drive data driven decision making and challenge the business on their assumptions and practices.
- Expertise in market and competitor analysis and forecasting with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Working knowledge of the terminology used in advanced data analytics in areas such as AI predictive modelling to be able to communicate effectively with data scientists and analysts.
- Good working knowledge of industry bodies (ABPI, BHBIA) and impact on business practice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Take ownership and lead cross-functional projects.
- Up to date NHS knowledge including customer perspectives on insight generation i.e., understanding how customers form opinions.
- Relevant SAM Competencies: Business Strategist, Value Co-Creator, Influencer, Project Manager, Trusted partner, Ecosystem shaper, Adaptive Leader, Technologist.
