We are looking for a Senior Virus Seed Technician to support the small scale production of virus seeds used in large scale Foot & Mouth Disease antigen manufacturing. You will play a key role in ensuring all activities meet EU, UK, and company GMP, Biosafety, and Health & Safety standards.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Production & Operations
- Carry out production activities in line with established procedures to maintain product integrity and quality.
- Operate and maintain clean room areas compliant with Grade A–D standards.
- Maintain accurate batch records and ensure the timely release of stock to support production schedules.
- Coordinate stock movement across the Virus Production 1 and 2 departments.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support production teams with documentation reviews, investigations, and training where required.
- Finance & Administration
- Manage stock movement and data entry in SAP/GBS.
- Plan stock usage and raise purchase orders using the WeBuy system.
- Quality & Compliance
- Act as a subject matter expert during both internal and external audits.
- Progress and close CAPAs and change controls relevant to your role.
- Investigate and document Events, Deviations, and Out of Specification (OOX) results.
- Enter data into LIMS accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review departmental Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs) and submit them to Quality Assurance.
Requirements
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work methodically and carefully while meeting tight timelines.
- Effective problem solving skills.
- Experience in industrial pharmaceutical production or a similarly regulated environment.
- Good IT skills, ideally with some experience using SAP/GBS.
- Experience working in GMP graded environments and aseptic manufacturing.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
