We are seeking an ambitious Corporate Digital Communications Manager to join the UK & Ireland Corporate Affairs team. This role is central to shaping, delivering and safeguarding Boehringer Ingelheim's digital presence across social media, websites, internal platforms and multimedia channels.

You will thrive in an integrated environment, working closely with local and global colleagues, cross‐functional business teams and external agencies. You will balance hands‐on digital channel management with strategic insight, ensuring that all digital activities are compliant, impactful and aligned with our business and communications objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in digital communications—particularly within a pharmaceutical or regulated environment—with skills spanning website and social media management, analytics, content creation, internal communications and campaign optimisation.

  • Lead planning and delivery of digital communications activities in partnership with UKI and global teams.
  • Contribute to digital strategy, social content development, website enhancements, digital narratives and senior leader visibility programmes.
  • Maintain editorial calendars for corporate digital channels, ensuring forward planning, timely scheduling and reporting.
  • Create or coordinate high‐quality multimedia assets using tools such as Adobe Express.
  • Oversee corporate and senior leader social media channels, monitoring for compliance, risks and engagement, escalating issues as needed.
  • Manage external digital agencies to deliver effective paid and organic campaigns within budget and to high quality standards.
  • Manage content approval workflows to ensure timely publication across channels.

Ensure all digital activities adhere to ABPI, IPHA, NOAH, corporate SOPs and the UKI Social Media Playbook.

  • Provide digital and social compliance training to employees, teams and new starters.
  • Refresh governance materials, processes and escalation pathways to support best practice.
  • Support in proactive, reactive and crisis communications responses, including scenario planning and content creation.

Provide regular reporting, insights and recommendations based on performance data across digital platforms.

  • Identify optimisation opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency across corporate digital channels.
  • Engage with global digital communities to stay up to date with evolving governance standards and digital developments.

Build digital confidence across the business, advising teams on content and best practice.

  • Support senior leaders with internal and external visibility, especially on LinkedIn and internal platforms.
  • Work cross‐functionally to deliver integrated corporate communications activity.

Strong experience in corporate digital communications, website and social media management, ideally within pharmaceuticals.

  • Understanding of compliance requirements, Codes of Practice and medical‐legal approval processes.
  • Experience with CMS platforms, content approval workflows and web governance.
  • Familiarity with internal platforms such as Viva Engage and intranets.
  • Experience measuring digital performance using analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics).
  • Proven ability to deliver end‐to‐end digital projects with minimal supervision.
  • 2–4 years' relevant experience in content management, social media and campaign execution.

Strong organisation and attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple channels and stakeholders.

  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder influence skills.
  • Collaborative, solutions‐focused and proactive working style.
  • Comfortable delivering training and advising colleagues at all levels.
  • High integrity and professionalism, especially when managing senior leader profiles.
  • Ability to balance operational delivery with longer‐term strategic planning.
  • Occasional travel within the UK & Ireland.

Basic understanding of SEO and experience working with external developers.

  • Strong written, verbal and digital communication skills.
  • Experience with video/photo editing is an advantage (training provided if needed).
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare sectors beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, marketing, English or related fields advantageous but not essential.
