Position

Warehouse Manager – Bodypower Sports LTD (formerly Fitness Superstore)

Salary: £40,000 per annum. Working hours: 42.5 hours per week, paid for 45 hours.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support warehouse staff to maximise productivity and efficiency.
• Manage attendance, breaks, shift coverage, holiday and sickness, including return‑to‑work interviews and probation reviews.
• Conduct coaching to develop team members.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies.
• Coordinate and monitor receipt, handling and dispatch of goods.
• Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently while meeting quality, budget, and environmental targets.
• Understand company policies and how the warehouse contributes.
• Coordinate use of automated and computerised systems where necessary.
• Keep stock control systems up‑to‑date and maintain accurate inventories.
• Plan future capacity requirements.
• Organise recruitment and training of staff and monitor performance.
• Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork to exceed productivity targets.
• Produce regular reports and statistics (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Maintain health and safety, hygiene and security standards.
• Oversee planned maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Warehouse Manager.
• Experience with WMS systems for inventory management, receiving and dispatch.
• Strong communication skills.
• People management skills – inspire, lead, motivate, delegate and explain ideas.
• Teamworking skills.
• Planning and organising skills for stock flow.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Initiative and decisiveness.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Flexible approach to work.
• Knowledge of legal requirements of operating a warehouse.
• Possession of counterbalance forklift licence, Pivot Steer (Bendi/Flexi) and truck licence is advantageous.
