Join our family-run auto body shop located in Wallsend, Newcastle Upon Tyne. We are looking for a skilled Panel Beater with spray painter experience to run a garage with us. We need someone hands-on who can repair, spray, lead, and take real ownership of the work going out the door.

The Role

  • Bodywork & Spraying
    • Carry out panel beating, panel replacement, and structural repairs to a high standard.
    • Lead all spraying work: automotive refinishing, colour matching, and final finishing.
    • Operate and maintain spray guns, booths, compressors, and drying equipment.
    • Deliver paint jobs that meet customer specifications.
  • Workshop Leadership
    • Supervise and train junior staff and apprentices.
    • Plan daily jobs, manage materials, and keep work flowing to hit customer deadlines.
    • Keep health and safety front and centre for the whole team.
    • Maintain a clean, tidy, efficient workshop.
  • Customer & Business Support
    • Talk directly with customers about repairs, finishes, and timeframes.
    • Help with estimates, bookings, and job cards.
    • Keep an eye on paint and material usage, flag issues, and spot ways to improve speed or reduce waste.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in panel beating and spray painting.
  • Solid knowledge of water-based and solvent paint systems.
  • Good colour matching skills and attention to finish detail.
  • Strong communication skills, including phone work.
  • Reliable, tidy, proud of your work, and able to lead by example.
  • Experience with quotes, job cards, or basic workshop admin is a bonus.

Hours & Pay
