Our Specialist Technologies facility in Hereford is seeking to recruit a Process Operator. The role is varied across multiple operations and requires diligence, accuracy and an ability to work flexibly within a team environment. Reliability, a positive attitude to learning new skills, a commitment to work safely and an ability to communicate effectively are paramount. Full training will be provided.
Main responsibilities:
Health, Safety and Environmental:
- Ensure all health, safety and environmental requirements are met
- Complete daily check lists
- Ensure high standard of housekeeping
- Ensure compliance to safe working practices
- Report any accidents or dangerous occurrences
Quality:
- Follow process instructions accurately
- Record process details as required
- Identify and report deviations from process parameters
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is available for product leaving site.
- Ensure material is identified correctly on the shop floor
Production:
- Machine setting and operation as required.
- Initiate escalation procedures in case of delays or problems
- Organise and plan efficient loading and unloading of equipment
- Ensure site is kept secure at all times
- Advise on deficiencies in consumables and tooling
- Work effectively within and across crews to deliver excellent customer service
Maintenance:
- Support preventative maintenance activities
- Ensure delay records are kept up to date
- Report deficiencies/faults in equipment performance
General:
- Advise management of any problems or opportunities as they arise
- Any other duties required for the effective running of the plant
Qualifications, experience and skills:
- Good general education, with strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills
- Diligent, methodical and accurate with high attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and an ability to work well within small teams
- Ability to reliably interact and work safely with complex electro-mechanical systems
- Experience in industrial environments and the use of fork lifts and overhead cranes is desirable (full training will be provided)
