We are recruiting for a Furnace Operator to prepare, jig, assemble, and break down loads for heat treatment and brazing, in line with relevant TDCs, loading plans, and build sheets. The role also includes operating plant and ancillary equipment.
Main responsibilities:
- Make up/breakdown furnace loads
- Plan jigs and fixture utilisation
- Operate plant and equipment and follow safe operating instructions
- Recording of process information Inspection of incoming components prior to assembly etc
- Preparation of components for assembly
- Assembling components ready for brazing
- Jigging components ready for furnace brazing
- Fitting & spot welding ABB inserts
- Tig welding & spot welding
- Dimensional fitting to build sheet/drawings
- Follow company health & safety procedures
- Follow company environmental procedures
- Comply with all quality system requirements
- Maintain good working practices and housekeeping
- The jobholder is responsible for handling finished and often high-value components. Key competencies include performing incoming inspections, careful handling, and appropriate jigging. Teamwork is essential, along with the awareness to ask questions when unsure.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
- No formal qualifications required but evidence of good general education standard
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Experience and/or FLT licence preferred but not essential
Salary / package:
- Competitive salary
