Role Description
The General Manager role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Conwy. This role oversees day‑to‑day operations across retail, hospitality, and events, ensuring an excellent customer experience and consistent service standards. Responsibilities include managing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and driving sales and profitability. The General Manager leads and develops staff, oversees scheduling, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations. The role also involves coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory, and supporting marketing initiatives, promotions, and community engagement activities.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams in food, hospitality, or retail environments, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff.
- Strong operational management skills, including oversight of daily service, stock control, supplier coordination, and quality standards.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and interpreting performance reports to inform decisions.
- Proven customer service and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with guests, suppliers, and community partners.
- Experience in local marketing, events, or promotions, ideally within a food or hospitality setting, to help grow brand awareness and revenue.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills, with a hands‑on, practical approach to addressing operational challenges.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and food hygiene standards, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant environment.
- Previous general management or senior supervisory experience; a background in food, hospitality, or retail is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on‑site in Conwy, with flexibility to cover weekends, holidays, and peak trading periods as required.
- Relevant qualification in business, hospitality management, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
