About the role

You will join the Bodleian Libraries’ Assessment Team and help improve how researchers, students and other users discover, access and use our digital collections and scholarly resources. You will carry out user research, usability testing and evaluation, using qualitative and quantitative methods. You will turn your findings into clear recommendations to improve digital services and contribute to innovative projects exploring new tools and methods, including AI-based approaches to discovering library resources. This is a fixed-term post for 1 year, working part-time for 22.5 hours per week. The anticipated working pattern includes working in person with the other User Experience Librarian for at least one day per week, ideally two. Home working is possible for one day per week.

About You

You will have an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, alongside experience of qualitative research and data analysis. You will have a strong knowledge of user experience principles and experience of usability testing, user research and assessment methods, ideally within a library or cultural setting. You will be an effective communicator and collaborator, with a strong customer service ethos and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders. You will also be able to identify opportunities for improvement, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
