OverviewWe\’re looking for a Senior Management Accountant to lead and develop our talented Management Accounting team. Reporting to the Financial Controller (Accounting), this role manages a team of 6-7 (qualified, part-qualified and non-qualified) accountants responsible for producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, maintaining the trial balances across our four legal entities, and overseeing key balance sheet areas.

You\’ll play a key part in ensuring high standards of financial control and accuracy while supporting the ongoing development and engagement of your team. Collaboration is at the heart of this role – you\’ll work closely with the Financial Accountant, colleagues in Tax and Commercial Finance, and wider business stakeholders to meet reporting deadlines and continuously improve our finance processes.

You\’ll also have the opportunity to deputise for the Financial Controller, gain exposure to transformation projects, and champion the use of AI and automation within the Finance function.

Location: 3 days in our North Acton office, 2 days working from home.

What You Will Do

Manage, coach, and develop a team of management accountants, supporting their growth and performance.

Build strong relationships across Finance, IT, and wider business teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Lead the consolidation and delivery of monthly management accounts and elements of the board pack.

Oversee all general ledger entries (excluding debtors and creditors).

Ensure risk areas are reviewed and acted upon.

Review and deliver balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard.

Support the preparation of statutory accounts.

Manage the preparation and review of audit schedules, liaising with auditors as required.

Oversee key compliance requirements (e.g. government surveys and reporting obligations).

Review balance sheet reconciliations with the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller (Accounting).

Play an active role in finance transformation projects and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.

Promote innovative approaches – including AI and automation – to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What We Are Looking For

ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent.

Proven team management experience.

Strong audit background

Strong practical experience preparing statutory accounts across multiple GAAP frameworks (e.g. UK and Dutch GAAP), ensuring compliance and accuracy across jurisdictions.

Excellent analytical skills.

Advanced or intermediate Excel skills.

The ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.

Experience using SUN or similar systems (desirable).

Retail or consumer industry experience (desirable)
