Overview
At Boden, our Designers bring creativity, commercial thinking and a sense of fun to everything they do. You’ll own full Girlswear categories across our jersey or wovens and occasion/party areas. You will be able to take ideas from concept through to production and fit to create distinctive, on-brand collections that delight our customer. With a brilliant eye for colour, print and playful detail, you’ll design wearable, creative and commercially balanced ranges that capture the spirit of Boden. Working closely with Product, Buying and Merchandising, you’ll collaborate to deliver collections that feel unmistakably Boden — stylish, grounded and uplifting. You’ll also support by mentoring Junior Designers or Design Admin Assistants, contributing to a positive and inspiring team culture. Inspirational shopping and supplier visits are encouraged, helping you stay curious, creative and connected to what our customers love.
Location: 4/5 days per week at our North Acton office.

What You Will Do
- Design unique and innovative Girlswear ranges across either our jersey or woven and occasion/party area that align with the seasonal strategy.
- Take responsibility for your categories from initial sketch through to final production.
- Present concepts and finished ranges confidently to senior stakeholders.
- Conduct research, competitor analysis, and inspirational shopping trips to inform creative direction.
- Create detailed CAD drawings and technical packs using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Upload and manage PLM data, including colour palettes, BOMs, and tech packs.
- Lead fit sessions, making confident design and fit decisions.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail at every stage, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Support and mentor junior team members, delegating tasks effectively and managing workflow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance creativity, margin and quality.
- Uphold and champion Boden’s values in everything you do.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong Childrenswear and/or Womenswear design experience across multi-product, jersey and wovens.
- Excellent eye for colour, print, proportion and playful detail.
- Degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, Print or Illustration.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (PLM experience a plus).
- Confident presenting ideas and influencing stakeholders.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
- Excellent understanding of competitors, trends and aspirational brands.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and flexible mindset.
- A positive, collaborative attitude and a genuine passion for Boden’s creative and customer-led approach.
