Sector: Facilities Management / Hard Services / Technical Assurance

Boden Group are working with a leading facilities management provider to recruit a Technical Assurance Lead for a major public sector estate contract. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong hard services background who enjoys being the technical point of contact, solving problems, reviewing compliance and supporting operational teams without the need for call-out, rota work or regular weekends.

You'll be joining a busy property services team supporting a high-profile estate, working across technical assurance, compliance, contractor performance and documentation review. The role would suit someone who has come from a mechanical, electrical, building services or hard FM background and is now looking for a more stable, technically focused position.

The role

As Technical Assurance Lead, you'll provide day-to-day technical support across the contract, helping to make sure works are completed properly, documentation is accurate and compliance standards are maintained. You'll work closely with FM teams, suppliers, helpdesk colleagues and client-side stakeholders, reviewing technical queries, auditing contractor submissions and helping to improve standards across the estate.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the day-to-day technical expert across a large FM contract.
  • Review hard FM work orders, technical documentation and contractor submissions.
  • Carry out desktop audits of remedial works, proposals and completion documents.
  • Support compliance across mechanical, electrical, fabric and building services activity.
  • Investigate technical issues, non-conformities and repeat failures.
  • Use asset, service and performance data to identify trends and improvement areas.
  • Support helpdesk teams with technical triage and escalation processes.
  • Build strong relationships with regional FM teams and supply chain partners.
  • Attend project handovers or site meetings where required.

What we're looking for

  • Strong hard services, building services, property maintenance or facilities management experience.
  • A technical background in mechanical, electrical, fabric or wider building services.
  • Experience reviewing compliance documents, contractor submissions or technical reports.
  • Good understanding of CAFM, helpdesk or asset management systems.
  • Comfortable working with data, reports and performance information.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge where needed.
  • Ability to build relationships with operational FM teams and suppliers.
  • Eligibility to complete security vetting for a sensitive public sector contract.

This could suit someone who has previously worked as a Technical Services Manager, Hard Services Manager, Compliance Manager, Technical Supervisor, Engineering Manager, Authorising Engineer, FM Technical Lead or a senior engineer looking to move away from hands-on delivery.

The package

  • Salary of £50,000 - £52,000
  • Bonus potential of up to 5%
  • Hybrid working, mainly based around Swindon
  • No call-out, no rota and no regular weekend work
  • Opportunity to work on a large, high-profile public sector estate
  • Long-term, stable contract environment
