We are seeking an experienced Mobile Combustion Engineer to join a growing engineering team, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across sites in Stoke and the wider Midlands. This is a mobile role requiring flexibility, strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to fault finding and compliance.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of heating and hot water systems, ensuring plant and equipment remain safe, compliant and fully operational. The role also includes general plumbing duties and minor building fabric works, alongside participation in a regional on-call rota.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and repair of heating and hot water systems
- General plumbing works and basic building fabric repairs
- Accurate fault finding and diagnosis of plant and system issues
- Installation works and completion of all required certification
- Ensuring plant faults and defects are remedied promptly and safely
- Identifying required spares, producing parts lists and estimating remedial timescales
- Completing Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) prior to commencing work
- Attending emergency call-outs and participating in the on-call rota

About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll be a qualified and experienced engineer with a strong commitment to safety, compliance and customer service.
Essential requirements:
- Recognised industry qualification
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Relevant plumbing qualifications
- C&G Level 3 Plumbing
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check with Barred Lists
Desirable (training can be provided where needed):
- Gas Safe registration
- Trade-qualified Combustion Engineer with post-apprenticeship experience
- Legionella awareness
- Asbestos awareness
- MEWP licence
- First Aid certification
