A leading organisation is seeking a Facilities & Health & Safety Manager to oversee facilities management, health and safety compliance, and operational support services across a busy manufacturing and office environment.
The Role
- Lead the company's Health & Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and best practice.
- Manage all facilities operations, including building maintenance, utilities, energy contracts and planned repairs.
- Oversee essential site services including steam generation, compressed air and chilled water systems.
- Monitor facilities budgets, manage supplier contracts and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, including RIDDOR reporting where required.
- Present regular Health & Safety performance updates to senior leadership.
- Manage fire safety, first aid provision and contractor compliance across the site.
- Oversee office administration services, ensuring operational support is delivered effectively.
- Line‑manage a small facilities and administration team, providing leadership, coaching and development.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- At least 3 years' experience managing both Facilities Management and Health & Safety.
- Experience managing building maintenance, contractor performance and site services.
- Knowledge of steam generation, compressed air and chilled water systems.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, including RIDDOR.
- Experience managing facilities budgets and supplier contracts.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
