On-Call : 1 in 6 weeks

Working Hours

• Early Shift : 09 : 00 – 17 : 00
• Late Shift : 10 : 30 – 19 : 00

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer to join a facilities maintenance team supporting student accommodation sites in Kingston upon Thames.

The role focuses on the delivery of high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical and building fabric elements, ensuring a safe, compliant and well-maintained living environment for residents. The successful candidate will also participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Service Delivery

• Deliver reactive and planned maintenance across student accommodation sites
• Undertake replacement of electrical appliances, fittings, luminaires and low-voltage outlets
• Carry out minor repairs within student bedrooms and communal areas, covering building fabric, fixtures and fittings

Electrical & Mechanical Duties

• Complete general electrical maintenance and fault finding
• Continuously monitor and maintain mechanical systems, fittings and plant rooms

Compliance & Safety

• Undertake monthly temperature monitoring of hot and cold-water systems
• Carry out weekly flushing of water outlets in unoccupied rooms
• Perform weekly fire alarm testing across the accommodation
• Complete bi-annual fire door inspections (training provided), recording defects, damage and remedial actions accurately

Reporting & Standards

• Accurately record works completed and report defects or compliance issues
• Ensure all tasks are completed in line with statutory requirements, site procedures and best practice

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role
• Recognised electrical qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Full UK driving licence
