This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of complex cooling and refrigeration systems across a diverse portfolio of client sites throughout London and the Home Counties. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining service efficiency and compliance. Key Responsibilities The Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer will primarily focus on fault diagnosis, repair, and essential preventative maintenance, with duties including: Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Quickly diagnose and resolve issues within a range of equipment, including A/C units, chillers, refrigeration systems, cold rooms, and freezer units. System Maintenance: Ensure the operational efficiency of all cooling infrastructure, such as VAV/VRV systems, cooling towers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), pumps, and Building Management Systems (BMS). F-Gas Compliance: Accurately maintain the F-Gas logbook, recording all refrigerant losses, recoveries, and additions in strict compliance with current regulations. Environmental Monitoring: Conduct mandatory leak checks and meticulously calculate and document GWP (Global Warming Potential) and CO2 e (carbon dioxide equivalent) emissions. Equipment Servicing: Perform recovery, repair, pressure testing, vacuum dehydration, recharging, and re-commissioning of A/C and refrigeration units. On-Call & Coordination: Participate in the maintenance on-call rota and effectively coordinate service visits and repair work with external subcontractors. Required Qualifications The provider is looking for an experienced and certified professional with the following background: Core Certification: City & Guilds 2079-11 F-Gas Cat1 and ODS regulations award is essential. Technical Education: Recognized EITB or CITB apprenticeship, or similar approved qualifications in an appropriate discipline. NVQ Level: Minimum Air Conditioning Engineer qualification to NVQ Level 2. Skills: Must be fully conversant with all major manufacturer’s systems and equipment, and possess the ability to read and work from mechanical and electrical schematic drawings. Experience: Proven experience maintaining relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria. Safety: L8 Awareness is required. A recognized Health and Safety Qualification (e.g., NEBOSH / IOSH) would be advantageous. Other: A valid driving license is required.
