Are you a technically strong FM professional who enjoys getting into the detail and challenging existing decisions? A leading Facilities Management organisation is seeking a Technical Lifecycle Manager in Manchester to assess asset condition, develop lifecycle strategies and provide the technical evidence behind major investment decisions.

The Role

  • Develop short, medium and long-term asset lifecycle plans.
  • Assess whether assets should be maintained, repaired, replaced or upgraded.
  • Review M&E installations, PPMs, asset records and proposed works.
  • Provide technical justification for lifecycle investment and expenditure.
  • Audit maintenance activity and challenge decisions where required.
  • Work with project teams, contractors and operational stakeholders to establish responsibilities and solutions.
  • Ensure lifecycle decisions meet relevant legislation, technical standards and PFI requirements.
  • Use CAFM and asset data to support planning, reporting and senior decision-making.
  • Consider emerging technologies, net zero solutions and climate adaptability when shaping future asset strategies.

You

  • Strong M&E building services knowledge.
  • Experience within lifecycle, asset management, TFM or technical consultancy.
  • Experience working within complex estates, ideally healthcare.
  • Good understanding of PFI and contractual environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex technical issues into clear recommendations.
  • Confidence challenging contractors, clients and other senior stakeholders.
  • A strategic and commercially aware approach to asset decision-making.
  • Engineering qualifications and professional or chartered membership would be advantageous.
