Are you an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer looking to take the next step into management? We’re recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-site Facilities Management contract across North London. Initially combining hands-on engineering with team supervision, this role offers a clear pathway to progress into a full-time Mechanical Supervisor position within approximately six months.
The Role
- Carry out PPM and reactive mechanical maintenance across multiple sites.
- Provide technical support and guidance to a team of engineers.
- Diagnose faults and resolve mechanical and building services issues.
- Support contractors, quotations and day-to-day maintenance delivery.
- Ensure RAMS, permits, Health & Safety and compliance requirements are met.
- Build strong relationships with clients and site teams.
About You
- A Mechanical or Plumbing NVQ / City & Guilds qualification.
- Strong experience within Hard FM, building services or commercial maintenance.
- Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Team Leader or Working Supervisor.
- Strong PPM, reactive maintenance and fault-finding experience.
- The confidence to lead engineers and deal directly with clients.
- F-Gas, AC, IOSH or AP experience would be advantageous.
