An established UK based provider of integrated data centre and critical environment solutions is seeking an experienced Business Development Director to drive growth across key target markets. This role will focus on developing and closing new business opportunities while ensuring customer requirements are met without compromising quality, service delivery or commercial objectives. You will play a key role in shaping long term client relationships and building a sustainable, high value pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and successfully close new business to meet and exceed agreed sales targets within defined market sectors.
  • Develop and maintain long term professional relationships with existing, new and prospective clients.
  • Build and manage a strong, active sales pipeline across existing and emerging markets.
  • Identify innovative routes to market and new sources of profitable business.
  • Take full ownership of sales activity including the development and delivery of high quality tenders, proposals and presentations in line with company standards.
  • Coordinate internal support teams including procurement, HR, QHS and commercial functions throughout the tender process.
  • Represent the business at industry events, networking forums and client meetings, promoting a professional and credible brand presence.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitor activity and industry developments.
  • Ensure senior stakeholders are fully informed of sales activity, pipeline status and emerging opportunities.
  • Ensure all governance, compliance and approval processes are followed when pursuing new business.
  • Maintain accurate records, contract documentation and tender support information.
  • Manage pre qualification questionnaires promptly and professionally.
  • Support re bids, contract renewals and variations for existing clients.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
  • Proven business development or sales experience within FM, M&E or managed services environments.
  • Experience within data centres or critical environments is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong track record of developing and delivering high quality sales and tender documentation.
  • Comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including site teams, suppliers and senior client representatives.
  • Target driven and comfortable operating in a high pressure sales environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly customer focused with the ability to influence and build credibility at senior level.
  • Self motivated, well organised and able to prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a multi disciplinary business environment.
