Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to manage the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for a key site in Darlington. This is a Monday to Friday role, working 40 hours per week, perfect for an engineer who wants to be the primary expert on-site while enjoying the stability of a fixed location.
The Role
- Deliver high-quality Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on all HVAC systems and associated plant equipment.
- Execute reactive maintenance and fault-finding, identifying root causes of system issues and providing long-term solutions.
- Service and maintain critical assets, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), and ventilation systems.
- Diagnose and repair system breakdowns in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to site operations.
- Perform basic repairs and fine-tune adjustments to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
- Maintain site compliance, ensuring all maintenance work is completed in line with procedures and industry standards.
- Keep accurate maintenance logs, updating all service documentation and reporting ongoing issues to site management.
- Uphold rigorous Health & Safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and site occupants.
Your Skills
- Valid F-Gas certification (Essential).
- City & Guilds (or equivalent) qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in HVAC maintenance, demonstrating strong skills in both PPM and reactive environments.
- Expert fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently on-site.
- A professional approach, with the communication skills to liaise effectively with site management.
- A commitment to accuracy, ensuring all compliance and service logs are meticulously recorded.
