Are you a skilled Multi Trade Operative looking for a role where your work truly matters? A leading company in the Facilities Management industry is hiring a Multi Skilled Operative in Fairford Oxfordshire to support key Defence facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to carry out a varied range of maintenance and repair work that directly contributes to the safe and efficient operation of the Defence estate.
The Role
- Carry out reactive maintenance, repairs, compliance works and minor refurbishment projects across a portfolio of Defence sites.
- Undertake a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing, basic electrical repairs, plastering, mechanical maintenance and general building repairs.
- Work across both domestic and commercial buildings, adapting to a varied and changing workload.
- Manage your workload digitally using a tablet or mobile device, ensuring accurate completion of maintenance records.
- Travel between sites using a company van and fuel card provided.
- Collaborate with a close-knit engineering team while also working independently when required.
- Support general storekeeping and yard duties as part of the wider site operation.
- Participate in an on-call rota to support emergency maintenance requirements.
You
- Practical experience within maintenance, Facilities Management, construction, housing or a similar environment.
- Experience carrying out a broad range of building maintenance and repair tasks.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including COSHH and RIDDOR.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage your own workload and adapt to changing priorities.
- Trade qualifications are desirable but not essential; strong hands-on experience will also be considered.
- A full UK Driving Licence and eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
