Boden Group are working with a leading national facilities management provider to recruit a Retail Fuel Technical Compliance Manager to support a large UK petrol filling station estate. This is a highly specialist role, suited to someone with strong experience across petrol filling stations, retail fuel, DSEAR, petroleum compliance or hazardous-area environments.

You will act as the technical lead for petrol forecourt compliance, ensuring all maintenance, repair, project and contractor activity is delivered safely, legally and in line with UK regulations. You will be the go-to specialist for all technical and compliance matters relating to petrol filling stations. This will include reviewing high-risk works, advising operational teams, assessing contractor competence, supporting audits and ensuring the right controls are in place before work takes place on live forecourt environments.

This is not a traditional Facilities Manager role. It is a technical compliance and assurance role focused specifically on PFS environments, DSEAR, petroleum regulations, RAMS, permits, isolations and contractor control.

  • Act as the internal subject matter expert for petrol filling station operations and compliance
  • Advise whether works can be delivered in-house or require specialist PFS contractors
  • Support operational teams with safe and compliant delivery across the estate
  • Define contractor competency requirements for high-risk forecourt activity
  • Support audits, inspections, projects, bids and mobilisation activity
  • Escalate and recommend suspension of works where safety or compliance standards are not met

You will need to be confident working with engineers, contractors, operational teams and senior stakeholders, with the ability to turn complex regulations into clear, practical guidance. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of technical compliance across a large national petrol filling station estate. It would suit someone who enjoys being the technical authority, influencing safe delivery and shaping how high-risk works are managed across a complex FM environment.
