One of our long-standing FM clients is currently looking for a Commercial Manager to join their team. The successful applicant will manage commercial aspects of operational contracts, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure effective commercial management.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage risk registers and dispute resolution with suppliers and customers.
- Ensure commercial/contractual compliance and risk mitigation.
- Monitor supplier performance against commercial terms.
- Lead commercial strategy on contractual disputes.
- Identify and support profit improvement initiatives.
- Negotiate contracts within set boundaries.
- Manage project delivery, ensuring appropriate contractual arrangements with all stakeholders.
- Control project finances by monitoring and reporting spend, while advising clients on financial risks and budget management.
- Manage the tender process and appoint suppliers, ensuring value for money and best contractual terms.
- Manage supplier accounts and upload commercial records onto the business system.
- Ensure effective financial and commercial management in line with company procedures.
- Manage supply chain expenditure and maintain pricing targets.
Essential requirements:
- Demonstrable experience managing PFI FM Contracts.
- Strong FM or construction background.
- Experience in dealing with construction defects.
- Demonstrable commercial technical knowledge and experience.
- Experience of NEC and Public Sector contracts – particularly PFI style contracts.
- Proven ability to successfully negotiate on high “value at stake” issues.
- A strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal awareness and influencing skills, and a target/profit driven attitude with a focus on delivering results.
