About Our client.
This consultancy is a specialist building surveying practice focused on the industrial property sector. The Building Surveyor will join a business with over 20 years experience based in Solihull, their close-knit team works across the greater Midlands region and beyond. They’re known for their relaxed, informal working environment and strong customer focus. Their Building Surveying team has grown organically through their successful apprenticeship programme and now they’re looking for their next key hire.
The Opportunity
They’re seeking an MRICS-qualified Building Surveyor to join their team. This is a varied and autonomous role that offers you the chance to manage projects from start to finish while building strong relationships with clients and contractors.
Based from their head office, you\’ll be carrying out building surveys, managing dilapidations and condition reports, negotiating claims, and overseeing contract administration on refurbishment projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conducting condition surveys and preparing dilapidations reports
- Managing refurbishment projects and carrying out contract administration
- Attending client meetings and representing the consultancy on-site
- Supporting junior and apprentice staff in their development
- Working closely with a secure and long-standing client base, including property managers, corporate landlords, and investment groups
About You
- MUST have proven experience with dilapidations, within a consultancy environment
- Ideally recently MRICS qualified, with 1–2 years’ post-qualification experience
- A self-starter who enjoys taking full ownership of projects
- Comfortable working independently and confident in client-facing roles
- Ideally with experience in the industrial property sector
- Interested in mentoring junior staff and contributing to a team-focused culture
