Birmingham Shift Pattern: 2 Days (7am–7pm), 2 Nights (7pm–7am), 4 Days Off 39.375 hours per week

Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 + 22% Shift Allowance

Overview

Working a rotating shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off, you will deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a live healthcare estate. This is a permanent position offering stability, a structured shift rota and an enhanced shift allowance (22% of basic salary). There is no on-call requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the hospital estate
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults including trip circuits, sockets, lighting systems and small power
  • Test and maintain emergency lighting systems and nurse call systems
  • Undertake general electrical maintenance, small installations and improvement works
  • Interpret drawings, specifications and technical instructions without supervision
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with contract KPIs and statutory compliance standards
  • Maintain services to the NHS Trust within a live, operational environment

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Approved Electrical Apprenticeship
  • AM2
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18)
  • Relevant Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (C&G / EAL / NVQ equivalent)

Other Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to pass a Standard DBS check
