National Facilities & Environmental Lead

Location: Midlands (Birmingham preferred)

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Car Allowance

Coverage: UK & Ireland

Boden Group are partnering with a leading national transport organisation to recruit a National Facilities & Environmental Manager to oversee a diverse property portfolio of approximately 35 sites across the UK and Ireland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced FM professional who enjoys variety, autonomy and taking ownership. You'll be responsible for everything from outsourced FM delivery and property management through to capital projects, compliance and an increasing focus on environmental sustainability.

The portfolio includes offices, operational facilities, workshops and depots, so no two days will look quite the same.

The Role

  • Oversee the national FM contract, managing service provider performance, KPIs, SLAs and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure statutory compliance across the estate, including fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene and general building compliance.
  • Manage property matters including leases, landlord relationships, dilapidations, acquisitions and disposals.
  • Lead refurbishment projects, site upgrades and capital works across the portfolio.
  • Support and develop environmental and sustainability initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency, environmental compliance and overall sustainability performance.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities, improve efficiencies and ensure value for money across the estate.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, landlords and external partners.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in multi‑site Facilities Management, ideally across a varied operational or commercial property portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of outsourced FM contracts, compliance and service provider management.
  • Knowledge of property and landlord & tenant matters, or the confidence and willingness to develop in these areas.
  • An interest or experience in environmental management, sustainability and improving the environmental performance of buildings.
  • A commercially minded, proactive individual who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership.
  • Based in the Midlands ideally, with flexibility to travel nationally when required.

You don't need to come from the transport sector. We're looking for someone who understands buildings, can manage a varied estate and has the confidence to make things happen.

This is an opportunity to take real ownership of a national portfolio, influence how facilities are managed and play an important role in shaping the organisation's approach to sustainability.
