Are you an experienced Electrical Authorising Engineer looking for a strategic role where you can influence engineering standards, compliance, and operational excellence across a major national contract? We're recruiting for an Authorising Engineer (Technical Assurance) to support one of the UK's most recognised and technically complex estates. This newly created position offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership, governance, and compliance oversight across critical infrastructure, ensuring engineering operations are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with industry best practice.

The Role

  • Provide technical assurance, governance, and compliance oversight across electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct technical audits, identify risks, and drive corrective actions to improve operational performance.
  • Assess, mentor, and support Authorised Persons and Competent Persons through the competency management framework.
  • Review and develop Safe Systems of Work, engineering procedures, and technical policies.
  • Produce technical guidance, compliance reports, and engineering communications to support continuous improvement.

You

  • Current Electrical Authorising Engineer status with strong operational engineering experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of HV/LV systems, electrical safety, and engineering compliance.
  • Experience auditing engineering operations and implementing technical governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, statutory compliance, and safe systems of work.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence engineering teams at all levels.
