Commercial Director (London)

Commercial Director (London)

London Full-Time No working from home possible
Bocobay

Bocobay is hiring a Commercial Director to own the demand side of the business: how our properties get seen, booked and priced, and how much revenue we make from every night we sell.

About Bocobay

We're a fast growing Caribbean hospitality brand, combining modern technology with 5-star service. We are on track for $35m annual revenue in 2026 and have doubled in size every year since our launch in 2020. We now operate in Aruba, Curaçao, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, with several new markets in the works. We're profitable and self-funded.

About the role

You own the top line. Distribution, pricing and revenue management, brand and performance marketing, direct bookings, and the partnerships that bring guests to us. Today most of our demand comes through the OTAs. Your job is to make that channel work harder while building the direct and repeat business that makes us less dependent on it.

This is a broad commercial remit rather than a marketing job with a bigger title. Some weeks you'll be rebuilding how we price a market; others you'll be rewriting listing content, running a paid campaign, or sitting with our Head of Revenue working through why Curaçao's shoulder season isn't converting.

You'll start with a small team and a lot of autonomy, and build out from there. Where the answer is an AI agent or an automation rather than a hire, we'd rather you built that.

What you'll do

  • Own revenue: occupancy, ADR and RevPAR across every market, and the forecast that sits behind them.

  • Run our distribution strategy across Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and the rest, including content, ranking, reviews and channel mix.

  • Work with our Head of Revenue on pricing strategy, and make sure our tooling and rules actually reflect it.

  • Own the commercial onboarding of every new property and resort.

  • Own the direct channel: website, CRM, repeat guests, and the lifecycle marketing that makes a first stay a second one.

  • Own the Bocobay brand and how we show up to guests and to owners.

  • Open the demand side of each new market before it goes live, so day one isn't an empty calendar.

  • Build the commercial partnerships that matter: travel agents, tour operators, corporate and group business, and local relationships on island.

  • Give us a clear commercial picture: what's working, what isn't, and what you're doing about it.

What we're looking for

  • You've owned revenue in a multi-site hospitality, travel or vacation rental business, and you can point at numbers that moved because of you.

  • You're commercially fluent and comfortable in the detail. Pace, pickup, channel mix and CAC are all normal conversations for you.

  • You're as happy writing the copy as approving it. We're too small for a Commercial Director who only reviews other people's work.

  • You know the OTA landscape properly, including how ranking and content actually behave.

  • You've built or run direct booking channels and understand what it takes to make them pay.

  • You have a high degree of ownership and move fast.

  • You build trust quickly across cultures, teams and time zones.

  • You're happy travelling to the Caribbean regularly.

  • You have the right to work in the UK.

  • Additional languages spoken in the Caribbean (e.g. Spanish, Dutch, French) are a plus.

Worth knowing before you apply

This role is based in London, reports to the CEO, and involves travel to our Caribbean operations. We're a young company with ambitious plans, and this isn't always a 9-to-5. Our islands run on Caribbean hours and urgent things come in at odd times. In exchange, we're flexible and we trust people: if you've had a heavy week, take the time back and clock off early when it's quiet (just coordinate with your team).

As an early senior hire at HQ, you'll have a real say in how Bocobay grows.
