As we continue our journey of growth and expansion to serve the new era of nuclear energy, Boccard, as a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction and maintenance in the nuclear energy industry, are looking for a talented, experienced Project Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality Team here at Boccard. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on driving quality excellence, influencing project outcomes, and ensuring products and processes meet the highest standards in the delivery.
You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams, customers, and suppliers to embed quality into every stage of the project and assurance measures are in place and followed. Key Responsibilities- Lead quality planning activities for new and existing projects.
- Develop and maintain project quality documentation (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
- Check the installation/manufacturing activities are acceptable to the requirements including the required NDT and dimensional checks, and its associated records.
- Work proactively to ensure quality topics are dealt with swiftly and suggest improvements to eliminate repeating issues.
- Check that the projects are implementing the correct procedures and follow the process including ITPs.
- Chase and discuss open actions with the action owners.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality‑related matters.
- Monitor project performance using KPIs and implement improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO 19443 and ISO9001).
- Monitor the performance status of projects through relevant indicators - Safety First, On time, On spec, On Budget, Customer satisfaction, creating KPIs to assess quality performance across the projects.
- Understand and exceed customer (internal or external) needs and expectations.
- Provide feedback to the Project team and leaders on concerns regarding Quality.
- Manage data related to KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement / Prepare performance reports for relevant stakeholders.
- Travel to suppliers and project sites to ensure quality and process capacities are met.
- Become familiar with company policies and train the team to follow guidelines.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Business or a related field.
- Proven experience in a quality engineering role within a project‑driven environment ideally within the Nuclear industry.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills based on facts.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Pack Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent communication skills with a good eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies (8D, DMAIC, SPC, PFMEA).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Confident working in fast‑paced environments with multiple priorities.
