- We are seeking a proactive and organised
- Stores Operative to join our team at
Hinkley Point C.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with engineering stores experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality, and teamwork are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage goods inwards and outwards, ensuring correct quantities and quality standards are maintained.
- Monitor stock levels and work with management to ensure material requirements are met.
- Issue tooling and equipment to trades personnel as required.
- Collate and prepare materials required for the fabrication of steel pipe supports.
- Maintain accurate stock records and deliver a high standard of stores administration to minimise errors.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the stores and logistics functions.
- Conduct stock monitoring and assist with stock ordering activities.
- Ensure welding consumables are stored and monitored in accordance with required temperature and humidity controls.
- Ensure electrical equipment is PAT tested and all relevant equipment is correctly calibrated and labelled.
- Drive the company van to collect and deliver goods from suppliers and other locations as required.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the stores environment.
- Minimise material waste through effective handling and disposal practices.
- Support the training and development of colleagues where appropriate.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSEQ) requirements.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties associated with the role.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working within an engineering stores or warehouse environment.
- Strong IT skills, including experience with Windows-based software.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a busy operational environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- PAT Testing Certification.
- CCNSG Safety Passport.
- Knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes.
- Experience supporting stock control and inventory management systems.
