Boccard UK is looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor (Black Hat) to join our team at Hinkley Point C, supporting one of the UK's largest and most exciting nuclear construction projects. You will lead welding and pipefitting teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in supervising site activities, managing resources, driving productivity, and ensuring full compliance with project specifications and nuclear safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise welding and pipefitting teams on site.
- Ensure all welding activities comply with approved procedures, codes, and standards.
- Deliver daily briefings and promote a strong safety culture.
- Coordinate materials, resources, and manpower to meet project milestones.
- Monitor quality performance and support inspection and testing requirements.
- Interface with clients, quality, and HSE teams to ensure compliance.
Essential Requirements
- SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding
- Team leadership/supervisory experience within industrial construction environments
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures, and quality requirements
- CCNSG Safety Passport (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspection
- ILM Level 3 Certificate
- C&BE plus Nuclear Unit
- Previous nuclear industry experience
