Responsibilities
- Lead advanced R&D projects on cylinder passivation, hydrogen fuel cell impurity analysis and CO₂ purity for carbon capture, ensuring world‑class measurement accuracy.
- Manage R&D laboratory operations, driving compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards while meeting strategic objectives.
- Develop and validate new instruments, analytical methods and testing protocols to expand EffecTech’s service portfolio and technical capabilities.
- Provide expert consultancy and technical leadership, advising clients on cutting‑edge measurement science and future applications in hydrogen and CO₂ sectors.
- Secure research funding and deliver impactful presentations, preparing successful grant applications and showcasing technical excellence in Linde Gate reviews.
- Support innovation through software development and production of Primary Reference Gas mixtures, maintaining UKAS accreditation and advancing measurement science.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree‑qualified in a scientific discipline or substantial hands‑on experience in a related technical field.
- Strategic knowledge, analytical expertise and a thorough understanding of measurement processes and methodologies to deliver new concepts and developments in gas metrology.
- Excellent communicator, capable of building client relationships through clear, confident verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in IT with some programming experience, leveraging technology to enhance processes and solutions.
- Highly organised and adaptable, capable of managing multiple priorities independently or collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
