Senior Buyer – BOC Limited, a Linde Company
Location: Woking, United Kingdom.
Employment type: Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a business partner to deliver YoY productivity savings, developing and implementing sourcing/category strategy aligned to business priorities.
- Uses category management to drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing and process optimisation.
- Leads supplier relationship management (SRM), building and maintaining excellent relationships with key suppliers.
- Identifies and evaluates potential suppliers and negotiates pricing, contracts and terms to secure competitive agreements.
- Minimises sourcing risks by ensuring appropriate contracts are in place with critical suppliers and manages the entire procurement lifecycle.
- Reviews and manages supplier performance, measuring key performance indicators, conducting evaluations and providing feedback.
- Encourages the business to adopt new processes, product development, innovation and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Stays up to date with market trends, regulations and emerging technologies to drive cost savings and mitigate price increases.
- Uses stakeholder management skills to resolve supplier‑related issues and disputes with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Degree level education preferred or A‑level with significant relevant experience in procurement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative and able to build relationships at all levels.
- High level of self‑motivation and tenacity to deliver results.
- Good commercial and business acumen.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvements, savings and best practices, influencing change cross‑functionally.
