Provide leadership within the UK & Ireland business to identify, develop and implement strategies and plans to ensure that large rotating business critical machinery is procured, operated and maintained safely, reliably and efficiently. Work with operating sites, Remote Operating Centre (ROC), Equipment Health Centre (EHC) and central engineering staff to review and analyse equipment condition, downtime figures and other operational data to identify recurring themes and develop strategies to improve reliability and efficiency. Build and maintain strong relationships with key outsource providers and ensure they provide value‑for‑money services through the development of service contracts, regular communication and coordination of performance review meetings. Keep abreast of technology advancements, latest equipment design, upgrade potentials, service trends and industry best practice to identify and evaluate reliability and efficiency improvement opportunities. Investigate unplanned events, carry out Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and prepare and share lessons appropriately.
What Makes You Great
- Mechanical Engineering degree. Chartership desired but not essential.
- Analytical skills and experience in root cause analysis, finding solutions to engineering and reliability problems.
- Experience in reading and understanding P&ID's, engineering drawings, manuals and maintenance instructions.
- Proven capability to mentor and develop operational staff in related skills.
- Extensive experience with large rotating machine operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, specification and commissioning in a related industrial environment.
- Experience using equipment such as ADRE and BN systems, vibration analysis and balancing techniques.
- Experience with electric motors, control systems, cryogenic pumps and turbines an advantage.
- High competence in Safety, Health, Environment & Quality concepts, management and standards.
- High level of personal integrity.
