What you will enjoy doing:
- Ensuring the road worthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of the vehicle allocated.
- Completing daily pre-use inspection check sheet for the vehicle and any specialised equipment that may be needed as part of daily work.
- If necessary, operating special BOC equipment such as a forklift truck or crane for loading and unloading vehicles.
- Applying defensive driving techniques, knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads to ensure the safe transit and delivery of cylinders.
- Delivering approximately 15-20 gas cylinders per day to customers in the area.
- Using safe cylinder manual handling techniques to deliver/collect cylinders to/from customers.
- Adhering to strict Health & Safety operations.
What makes you great:
- Possession of a HGV/LGV Cat C driving license.
- ADR (Class 2 in packages) desirable; training will be provided where appropriate.
- A driver CPC is required.
- Adept knowledge of defensive driving and Driver Regulations, including HSA regulations.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
- A high level of personal integrity would be advantageous.
- Holding the LGV entitlement of your driving license for a minimum of 2 years, for insurance purposes.
