Bobst vacuum metalliser machines are assembled, fitted, tested then disassembled in Heywood before being shipped to our customers worldwide. The Apprentice Mechanical Fitter will work with a team of highly skilled Mechanical Fitters who produce these high-quality machines. Once fully qualified, apprentices will be required to travel on a worldwide basis to assist in the installation of company machinery.
Main Responsibilities- To strictly adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, including attending mandatory training courses, to ensure no possibility of endangering yourself or your colleagues.
- Day or block release for your college course is mandatory and monitored by both your manager and your tutor.
- You are required to successfully complete your course and produce certification for your personnel file.
- If you require additional study time to successfully complete the course, unless otherwise specifically agreed with the Production Manager, this should not infringe on your normal working hours.
- As an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter, you are required to perform your duties in a professional manner, carry out all instructions from your supervisor under full or minimum supervision.
- Training will be given, in addition to your standard college course, in all necessary equipment handling, to enable you to complete the following day-to-day tasks:
- Assembly, disassembly, and despatch of machines.
- Manual Handling
- Working at height
- Use of basic hand and power tools
- Level 3 Engineering Fitter BTEC Extended Diploma.
- Functional Skills, Level 2 in Mathematics, English – if required.
