The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.
Working with laminate and veneer panels, as well as aluminum extrusions, drilling and routing. Proficient in operating all equipment in these areas, such as Routers, Hand Trimmers, Pillar Drills, and Chop Saws, while performing housekeeping and preventative maintenance. A good understanding of drawings is required. This position works in a team environment, meeting all company and departmental standards and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Follow and promote safe work practices.
- Report all hazards, unsafe acts, and conditions immediately to your manager.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices and always follow health and safety protocols.
- Wear proper PPE as required.
- Inspect and measure cut stock to verify dimensions against specifications in compliance with quality standards.
- Operate power hand tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Maintain production quality standards.
- Provide ad hoc support to the factory teams when required.
- Participate and submit new and improved work methods in alignment with the Suggested Method Improvement program.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Train other members of staff when required.
QUALIFICATIONS: For successful job performance, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily and independently. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- GCSEs or equivalent required in Maths and English.
- A satisfactory level of written and spoken English.
- 2-3 years experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude a must.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiar with manufacturing measurement tools, hand tools, etc.
- Use of inspection equipment such as calipers (dial, vernier), squares, micrometer, etc.
- Utilise sound judgement.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Must possess working knowledge of MS Office and understand basic functions.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Be able to multitask, problem-solve and work towards deadlines.
- Be able to work as part of a team and work alone to complete tasks.
- Valid Driving UK Licence (ideally but not essential).
- Demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm.
- Strong people skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with all internal customers.
- Adaptable and flexible and open to change.
- Ability to work in a very physically active role.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to communicate clearly and effectively to management and team members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to conduct ongoing manual work, and on occasions lift goods up to 25kg. Required to read and visually observe with close vision, distance vision and colour vision.
