We are looking for a friendly and reliable Counter Assistant to join our team. As the first point of contact for our customers, you will greet them, take orders, process payments, and ensure they have a positive experience. You will also maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked counter area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take food/drink orders accurately, and handle inquiries or complaints with a positive attitude.
  • Order Management: Prepare or serve food/drinks and package takeaways quickly to maximize sales and service flow.
  • Cashier Duties: Operate the till/POS system, handling cash, credit cards, and providing accurate change and receipts.
  • Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness at the counter, serving areas, and tables.
  • Stock Management: Replenish stock, restock self-serve stations, and follow food rotation practices.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen and front of house staff to ensure smooth service, particularly during busy periods.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Friendly, polite, and professional demeanour.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic numeracy skills for cash handling and POS usage.
