Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly and reliable Counter Assistant to join our team. As the first point of contact for our customers, you will greet them, take orders, process payments, and ensure they have a positive experience. You will also maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked counter area.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service:Greet customers warmly, take food/drink orders accurately, and handle inquiries or complaints with a positive attitude.
- Order Management:Prepare or serve food/drinks and package takeaways quickly to maximize sales and service flow.
- Cashier Duties:Operate the till/POS system, handling cash, credit cards, and providing accurate change and receipts.
- Cleanliness & Safety:Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness at the counter, serving areas, and tables.
- Stock Management:Replenish stock, restock self-serve stations, and follow food rotation practices.
- Teamwork:Collaborate with kitchen and front of house staff to ensure smooth service, particularly during busy periods.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Friendly, polite, and professional demeanour.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic numeracy skills for cash handling and POS usage.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends.
- Previous experience in retail or food service is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Right to work in the UK
