About the role
Ready to run a busy kitchen without the late-night finishes? Bob & Berts is looking for an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our daytime kitchen. You’ll take ownership of service, standards, stock and team performance, keeping breakfast and lunch service organised, consistent and fast. This is a practical leadership role for someone who knows how to manage a kitchen, support a team and stay calm during the rush.
What you’ll do
- Lead from the front: Run smooth breakfast and lunch services and step in wherever needed.
- Develop the team: Train, coach and organise kitchen colleagues, creating rotas that support a reliable service.
- Deliver consistently: Make sure every dish is prepared quickly, safely and to the right standard.
- Control the kitchen: Manage ordering, deliveries, stocktakes, waste, food costs and availability.
- Protect standards: Maintain excellent food hygiene, allergen, cleaning, health and safety records and routines.
- Work as one team: Coordinate closely with front of house and contribute ideas for specials and seasonal menu items.
What we’re looking for
- Applicants must be aged 18 or over because of the responsibilities and working requirements of this management role.
- At least two years’ relevant experience as a Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Supervisor, Café Chef or in a similar leadership position within a busy café or restaurant.
- Proven confidence leading a team and managing rotas, stock, ordering, waste and food costs.
- A current Food Hygiene Certificate.
- A calm, organised and hands-on approach during busy service.
- Availability for early-morning and weekend shifts.
- The right to work in the UK.
