Born in Portstewart in 2013, we’ve grown form one neighbourhood coffee shop into a growing UK wide brand – and we’re entering an exciting new phase of expansion.

We’re looking for a Senior Creative Designer to help shape what the brand looks and feels like as we grow.

This isn’t a role for someone who simply takes a brief and makes something look nice.

We’re looking for a creative thinker and exceptional designer who can interpret a brief, challenge the thinking, develop exciting creative concepts and then bring them to life to an outstanding standard.

You’ll play a key role in evolving the Bob & Berts visual identity, making sure the brand continues to feel distinctive, relevant and unmistakably us.

The Role

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, you’ll be responsible for turning marketing strategy and briefs into bold, engaging and commercially effective creative.

You’ll take a brief and develop multiple creative routes for consideration – bringing your own ideas, perspective and expertise to the table.

Once a creative direction is agreed, you’ll own it from concept through to final artwork – ensuring the execution is consistently excellent across every channel.

You’ll also be an important creative voice within the marketing team, constantly looking for opportunities to push, refine and evolve the Bob & Berts brand.

  • Design
  • Produce high quality creative across digital and physical channels
  • Design campaigns for social, loyalty, instore and other brand touchpoints
  • Create campaign toolkits and ensure creative translates effectively across different formats and locations
  • Prepare artwork to a high standard for production
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Ensure all creative is consistent with the Bob & Berts brand while allowing the work to feel fresh and relevant
  • Brand Evolution
  • Help evolve and strengthen the Bob & Berts brand as the business grows
  • Identify opportunities to make the brand more distinctive and ownable
  • Explore new visual styles, typography, layouts, photography and illustrations
  • Keep an eye on culture, design and competitor activity, and bring relevant inspiration to the brand
  • Develop creative approaches that help Bob & Berts stand out in an increasingly competitive market
  • Challenge the team to continually raise the creative standard
  • Help establish and maintain strong creative principles and visual consistency across the business
  • Creative Production
  • Take ownership of the creative process from initial concept through to final delivery
  • Art direct and support product and lifestyle shoots where required
  • Work with external photographers, videographers, printers and other creative suppliers
  • Brief external creative partners where specialist support is required
  • Manage creative amends and production processes
  • Maintain organized artwork files and creative assets
  • Working with Marketing
  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing to turn strategic priorities into creative opportunities
  • Understand the commercial purpose behind campaigns and ensure creative isn’t just visually strong, but effective
  • Collaborate with the wider marketing team and the business to deliver campaigns
  • Help build a forward thinking creative calendar alongside the wider marketing plan
  • What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is both a brilliant designer and a strong creative thinker.

You’ll ideally have

  • 5+ years experience working as a designer within a fast paced brand, agency or consumer facing business
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, as well as design execution
  • Experience taking a brief and developing creative concepts from scratch
  • The ability to develop several genuinely different creative routes, rather than variations of the same idea
  • Excellent knowledge of typography, layout, composition, colour, imagery and visual hierarchy
  • Experience developing and working within brand identities
  • The confidence to present creative ideas
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work at pace and manage several projects
  • A genuine interest in hospitality and what’s happening around us
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design & After Effects.
